Following a theoretical introduction to the historical background of osteopathy and an explanation of various terms, the current state of training in Europe will be discussed. The morning will be taken up with the theory of osteopathic principles, motility and mobility, somatic dysfunction, direct and indirect techniques, anatomical relationships, routes to an osteopathic diagnosis, palpation and perception exercises, and the significance for mainstream medicine and dentistry.
The afternoon will then be used for practical exercises with a horse. Practical exercises will include adspection and palpation. The afternoon will also include hands-on experience of motility and mobility, identifying restrictions in movement, several indirect techniques and osteopathic release.
Participation in this workshop cannot be used as proof of a practical training day for admission to the IGFP examination.

The number of participants will be between 10 and 20. If there are more than 15 participants, a second lecturer will be brought in. Places will be allocated to applicants on a first come, first served basis.
The Blauersteinhof is located 61 km from the H+Hotel in Niedernhausen – approximately a 48-minute drive away. More details will be sent out by email before the course.
Cancellation policy and disclaimer of liability
1. If a booking is cancelled in writing no later than 14 days prior to the start of the event, the participation fee will be refunded, subject to a processing charge of 25% (minimum charge of € 25). We regret that no refunds can be given for any cancellations made within 14 days of the event. A place can be transferred to a different participant, subject to a processing fee of € 50.00.
2. The event organiser reserves the right to make changes to the workshop programme. In the event of changes to the programme or speakers, no reduction or refund of the participation fee will be given.
3. Any handouts that are distributed are protected by copyright. They must not be reproduced, shared or used for commercial purposes in any form – including extracts – without the speaker’s consent.
4. The event organiser reserves the right to have photographs, audio recordings, drawings or videos taken of the workshop activities, the participants and the presentations, and to use these for advertising purposes and in publications online and in the media.
5. The IGFP accepts no responsibility or liability for any inaccurate information contained in the presentations or documentation.
6. Liability for personal injury or damage to property is restricted to cases of intent and gross negligence as provided for by law; the event organiser excludes any further liability in this context.
7. If the event cannot go ahead due to force majeure, problems at the venue or an insufficient number of participants, participants will be notified without delay. Participants cannot claim any reimbursement of travel expenses, accommodation costs or loss of working hours.
