Content:

An exploration of anatomical and physiological principles through theoretical explanations and practical dissection exercises will give participants an understanding of the masticatory dynamics specific to horses. There will be a particular focus on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) from both an anatomical and a clinical perspective. Further presentations will cover the core principles of the veterinary diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders.
Small-group practical sessions under expert guidance will then be offered on various topics – diagnostic imaging, accessing the TMJ (including endoscopy), and treatment techniques.
Please note: The guided anatomical dissections are open to all who are interested.
Under the terms of the German Animal Welfare Act, the exercises on specific surgical techniques are reserved for veterinarians.
Please bring suitable protective clothing with you for anatomical dissection work.
During the workshop, three or four groups will work in rotation. There will be a maximum of seven participants in each group (maximum 24 participants in total).

Participation in this workshop cannot be used as proof of a practical training day for admission to the IGFP examination.
